Give Hope to the Hungry with K-LOVE 97.3!
This month, KCRM is partnering with K-LOVE 97.3 listeners and other homeless ministries across the country to provide meals and care to the homeless this holiday season.Nervous Turkey Kicks Off KC First Church of the Nazarene Holiday Outreach
A nervous Turkey kicked off Kansas City First Church of the Nazarene’s holiday outreach at the church’s November Ministry Fair.KCRM needs chicken quarters, ground beef and turkey breasts to provide for the already-increasing number of homeless coming in from the cold!
By early October, temperatures dropped significantly enough to encourage dozens of homeless men to come in from the cold. “We’ve already surpassed our emergency dorm capacity and are putting mats on the dining room, chapel and classroom floors to accommodate the increase in homeless men asking for shelter,” said Julie Larocco, development officer.
KCRM needs donations of meat to feed the more than 160 hungry people crowding our dining hall for dinner each night. “It takes 50 pounds of whole-muscle meat or 160 pounds of chicken to feed the crowns for dinner each night,” said Larocco.

Thanks to Antioch Church of the Nazarene, College Church of the Nazarene, Holmeswood Baptist Church, Living Stones Fellowship, Nall Avenue Church of the Nazarene, Greg and Cindy Smith, Village Community Church of the Nazarene and Sioux Chief Manufacturing, we’ll outfit all 102 beds at KCRM with brand new, antimicrobial mattresses and pillows that will bring extra comfort to our weary guests.KCRM’s garden produces its first harvest!
Volunteers harvested squash, zucchini and lettuce from our community gardens in uptown Kansas City and the Northland this week. Our thanks to Kansas City Community Gardens, Steve Mann of Platte Prairie Farms and dozens of volunteers who helped make this project possible. Next ... corn, green beans and tomatoes!
