KCRM Helps Meet The Need for Christmas in Excelsior Springs

Kris Peoples, executive director of the Excelsior Springs ministry Meet the Need, has struggled to provide even the most basic needs for poverty-stricken families in the rural Northland since the agency’s facility burned down last October. Despite its distance from KCRM, the organization has provided KCRM with donations of furniture and other items for homeless men moving into permanent housing. So when KCRM Community Relations Manager Paul Masao heard of Meet the Need’s distress, he filled a van with food, toiletries and other donations and took them to the trailer from which Meet the Need is currently operating. “It takes all of the ministries and outreaches in our region working together to find solutions to the growing needs of homeless persons and struggling families in these trying times,” Paul says.
